My wife after much and long converations about having a bike realized how much it ment to me and actually told me to get one. Well I bought the first bike I ever wanted, it just took me 22 yrs. to get. She doesn't care for this one because it just a bike.(NH 750SC) She says it should have
chrome and lots of it .This might mean i get the cruiser i want sooner.
I guess my ramblings is just to make the point that through communication and understanding you both in the end can have what you want .
shes been wanting a girl after 3 boys and I am giving her that. Doesnt that count for something

sorry trying to make a joke hehe.
Ok I had a car but I sold it because well with me working third and wife working second we never used it. it just sat in the driveway melting away so i sold it. so now all we have is the minivan wich I drive to work when she gets home (mind you she works part time so she doesnt work everyday). We have a babysitter come watch our kids for 30 minutes when she has to work till 10:30pm (she doesnt work that late every night) and I have to go to work. baby sitter comes I walk or ride my pedal bike down to her work (4 blocks away yeah I know she should walk but shes prego) and pick up the van. with a bike all i would have to do during the summer is drive it (unless its raining). For winter I am thinking of getting a snowmobile but the problem with that is I am in the city and its illegal to drive them in the city. all I would have to do, however, is drive the 1/4 mile down and I would be out of the city.
I have been wanting a truck but am waiting to get one because we want a new house first. We need a bigger one (4 kids ya know) and have been saving for that. $1500 more 2 go for down payment whoop lol. So with a motorcyle I will spend what $4000 ($8000 for the one I want but I am willing to go for a used one) whereas a truck I want is $35,000 before emplyee discount (the discount brings it down to $26,000). I have tried to explain this to her but she doesnt like it. However the more I talk about it the more she is "caving in" as someone put it on here on the second page. obviously with saving I would get a loan for the bike so as not to use my savings that i want to spend to buy a piece of land to build on (we have found it will be cheaper and better for us to have a house built than to buy a comparable size house that we need for our children). I could go more into why it is cheaper for us to build than buy but that is another topic in itself.

You could sell 2 of the kids, buy the house, bike and truck with the profits, still have a boy and a girl with a big house and lotsa cash and new stuff.
Might want to mention it to the wife.

We're lucky men - mine was the same way. She encouraged me to get a Royal Star last December, we bought her a Suzuki 2 weeks ago and she's passed out now from exhaustion after taking (and passing!) her MSF course today.

well I have been talking with her. I am willing to compromise with her. showed her a bike I dont want (kawasaki ninja line I just think they arent nice to look at) the bike I really want (Ducati Multistrada 620 red) or the bike I am willing to ride till I learn how to ride them better (Honda Shadow series). So I guess when I can get the basic msf course (looks like next year as this year is full already) I will get a bike at that time and will probably end up with a honda shadow. someone did suggest an endura 500 to me but I havent had a chance to look them up.

There shall be great wrath heaped upon anybody that tries to keep me from riding. And the wrath shall be in the form of squirells on PCP with a tickle fetish.
Actually my GF is a tad nervous about bikes.... but she just doesnt Know. if you follow my drift. i'm slowly talking her into letting me putt around the parking lot with her doing the pillion thing..... seeing as shes not the pillion type, i expect it shouldnt take long before shes developed a bike fetish.

My wife had no problem with me getting a motorcycle. I've been bicycling on the road for years now and she considers motorcycles safe in comparison.
