To comment on the color only, I would get the red one. There is no point in getting a blue or yellow helmet if you are getting a red/black bike.

Ya know, with everyone telling Verm how bad of a job he's doing and now how bad of a person he is, I'm feeling kinda left out here. Verm If you don't start paying attention to the people on this board there will be grave consiquences. Since you didn't start of on a 2hp riding lawnmower like we suggested you will be unable to control the fire breathing baby eater (any sportbike 600cc and over) that you've insisted on purchasing. As soon as you even look sideways at you're new demon spawn (hope you get a new bike soon! :D ) the front wheel will rise from the ground, your ill fitting helmet will turn around on your head and your silly scarf will get caught in the rotor of a low flying traffic helicopter as the incomprehensable power flings you towards your certain doom! With your helmet on backwards (cuz it doesn't fit cuz you didn't listen to us!) You will not see that a grandmother in an oncoming 18 wheeler full of children, grandchildren and cute furry little pet-things pulls a left turn across the path that you were following to oblivion. Your attempts to stop the out of control whirling death machine will backfire sorely as you over aply the brakes sending the beast topleing end over end with you attached to it by your silly scarf which is now wrapped around the kickstand. Tumbling down the road you and the demon bike leave a trail of broken prarts, blood and gore in your wake. Coming to a stop at the side of the road only after brutally slaughtering a troop of girl scouts and bursting into a ball of fire. Floating gently away from your now broken and burnt body you spirit moves on to the afterlife where Erwin "Cannonball" Baker slaps you in the face and sends you straight to Hell!!

I dont think i've ever tried those particular brands on before. Do a writeup in the review forum verm?

I just bought a Gmax

Never even heard of them before, but managed to get the solid black lid there for 80$ at a local dealer. Decently comfy, except for this godawful little net thing that goes under the chin. I immediately snapped that out and it was worlds better. Face shield comes apart fairly easily for switching to a smoked visor, and actually thumbscrews on. seems a bit more secure than my other lid. and the flip up jaw flap has a nice big button, opens easy, goes way way back, and closes down again just as easy.

Yeah, I ordered a helmet online but I went to the shop and tried it on first, found the one that fit me just right, and ordered.

Another thing when buying online though, companies will gladly sell you a helmet that's 5+ years old. Make SURE you know how old the helmet you buy is before you drop $$ on it!

Stick with the RF-1000 it is a good helmet. It may be expensive, but you can't go wrong with the best.

Your right, the X11 is the top of the line Shoei helmet. I'm just say that you can't go wrong with a Shoei because there whole line of helmets are better than those that you picked out, in my opinion. I guess what I am trying to say is if you were pleased with the RF-1000 that you had why not get another?

just for a change... just like im going to go w/ 600 instead of another 1000 for my next bike.

speaking of shoei... this TZR grabbed my attention and it's within my price range. i have to look for its specs though on other websites since they don't have it on kneedraggers.com
