Guess I've been lucky...always leave mine resting on the footpeg and brake....maybe its just too low for anyone to notice
Bear in mind though my bike's usually parked with a bunch of other cruisers at bike events or hang-outs.
The one time I did store it somewhere...rode the bike to the movies and put the helmet in my sisters car trunk...didn't trust all the little brats running around the parking lot...
Still don't understand people hanging helmets from handlebars (unlocked) seems to be asking for it to fall off

I don't know why. I sometimes feel really paranoid and take my helmet with me. It's just I paid so much for it and it seems so easy to steal. I was hoping to fish for some opinions and see if anyone has ever really had their helmet stolen. Maybe I am nuts?
I agree with NorthernPete. That's what the helmet lock is for.
mine goes with me

My helmet came to me free, by vender mistake. I had it on the counter when I bought the bike....he didn't ring it in. I told him and he said "take it, my mistake, your bonus... and it goes in the mall with me. Now, it's an open face w/shield, but it's mine and goes with me.

I used to wear a full face -- it always came with me and never hung off the handlebar.
Now I'm into wearing beanies -- I usually just lock it to the helmet lock. If i'm going to be away for more than a little while, I'll take it with me.
