Dude, I feel your pain....been there and done that, except for the flat lining part thankfully.

I've still got the hardware in my leg as a souvenir! Put almost 17,000 miles behind me since then. All's well and I'm more alert on the road these days.

I've still got the hardware in my leg as a souvenir! Put almost 17,000 miles behind me since then. All's well and I'm more alert on the road these days.

All my hardware is long gone, but have a lovely scar over my kneecap as a souvenir......that and the odd bout of pain in the break area when it gets cold out.....fun stuff eh?

Yeah, i've got some hardware in my wrist since my last accident.... but that was a racing incident, no idiot driver.

I occasionally have trouble with my leg because of the nerve damage. Sometimes when I squat down at work my leg gives out and I have to stop myself from falling over with my hands.

been in major and minor accidents. Met a taxi jumping thru a stale red lite (him) . He got towed, I road home. True story. Couple high speed flat tires.

A minor accident that could have been death for me.

Coming up a hill that curved to the left. Made the curve only to have the sun flash straight into my eyes. When my eyes cleared a bit, there she was. A car in the middle of the lane waiting to make a left turn.

I pulled to the left and tried to squeeze between her and the oncoming cars. If I didn't do this I would have hit her right in the rear bumper and would have probably flown over her car.

Almost made it through with the exception of that rear view mirror my elbo ripped off her car. Thank God for breakaway accessories.

Soooooooo the outcome is I'm ok, and her mirror is on the ground. No ticket and the insurance company took care of everything.

I never had any accidents so far (praise the Lord). which option should I select.

Had a few spills years ago on a scooter; mostly sand or gravel on the road while trying to get around a curve. Went over the handlebars once while pushing the scooter to get it to start. The kickstarter lever was broken off and I used to push the scooter in first gear with the clutch disengaged; pop the clutch at the appropriate speed and jump on when it starts. Well the time I went over the bars I had mistakenly put the scooter in second gear. When it started it began to accelerate away from me and I couldn't keep up. I pulled the front brake too hard and the scooter nosedived and launched be over the bars. Left part of my shin on the metal cowling and landed in front of the scooter. A neighbor saw the whole thing and came running out to check on me. Except for the shin and some amazement at my stupidity I was OK.

An interesting one I heard of from a friend; he was on the freeway on a Honda 350 (I think) years ago and accelerated through a slight shimmy at about 55 mph. Everything smoothed out at 60 mph and he went about his way. When his exit came up he began to slow and the shimmy came back in spades between 55 and 50. He sped up and the shimmy went away. After a couple of tries he realized that he was going to have to ride through the shimmy spot in order to slow down. I think I would have found a good place to slam on the brakes and try to control the skidding stop. He didn't; he tried to ride through the shimmy point and ended up going down at about 50 mph. He was lucky and had no major injury to himself or the bike.

I had one crash last April. I am still feeling the effects of it.
