So... you're agreeing with me?
When you get asked for an opinion, you're on the line for whatever you said. That's all I'm saying. We need to offer the best advice we have, whatever it may be and let the other person figure it out. But once we have offered our opinion we are invested.

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Perhaps I may be misreading your meaning, but I assume you are implying we are responsible for the actions which follow the advice seeker. If so, then No, i'm not agreeing. If an opinion is sought, and I offer, once the topic is closed, so is my "investment".Sevulturus wrote:So... you're agreeing with me?

I only ride motorbikes (includes trikes), I am only licenced for motorbikesLion_Lady wrote:A motorcycle is a considered a luxury purchase, just like a big sailboat, or an RV, or even snow skiing. My first bike with all my gear cost £500 or so. Yes I bought a beater, yes my friends have been very involved in keeping it on the road.
But the same applies if I had bought a car, in fact to be totally honest I couldnt afford a beater car.
If Motorbikes are luxury items, then so are cars...

Yeah, but you do know that your case is rather rare. If 1 in 100 riders are in your situations, I think that would be a lot.Kal wrote:I only ride motorbikes (includes trikes), I am only licenced for motorbikesLion_Lady wrote:A motorcycle is a considered a luxury purchase, just like a big sailboat, or an RV, or even snow skiing. Like everything else, you can do a lot if you really want to, or if you really need to. In the US I think it is even more true - it is a luxury for most folks. I think in the UK (and Europe) there are more riders who do so to save money.
