The Proper precaution is to start out small.

By getting a zx-6r, you are throwing precaution to the wind.

Which is the point that you are completely missing.

So I guess if someone "masters" how to shoot a BB gun, they can just run off and start firing that Smith and Wesson .357 like they were Billy The Kid. After all, "it's not the gun, it's the person-with-delusions-of-grandure pulling the trigger", right?

a BB gun isnt a legit gun, doesnt fire bullets. If you master, and i mean comptley master how to shoot a .22 pistol, and you are awesome at it, then if you pick up a .357, or a .45. Once you adjust to the wieght and recoil of a new gun, then your ability to shoot it will be much better than someone who just starts on a .45 becasue you will know how to aim, breath, squeeze the trigger, relax and make good shots.

Haha.

I love the connection between the gun and a bike.

But it does hold. If you've never shot a gun before, you don't want to go out and shoot a .357, because it will scare the "poo poo" out of you, and you probably won't even hit the target at all. I spent a long time shooting .22s, 9mms, .35s, etc., and even then when the first time I shot my buddies .357, I jumped the first time I fired it. If that was the first gun I had shot, I probably would've pissed myself.

Or the recoil would have made you hit yourself in the face.

back in the day my dad thought it would be funny to have my first time shooting a gun be a shotgun, and not just any load. He had me fire a 12 gauge slug for my first shot, it bruised my shoulder and scared the crap outa me.
