that is nutty, A-10s are made for low speed manuvers arent they? well low speed for a jet anyway. The video I saw had an a-10 just firing for a long long time maybe it was the way the camera made it appear but I swear the thing went backward. the recoil on the gun equals the thrust of the jets.
Like Bob the MSF guy said "Smile your on a bike" :)

So couldn't they point the gun backwards, and use the engine and the gun, and go really really fast?

Reverse? No. BUT that 3000 r(ound)pm 30mm cannon WILL slow the plane down.Myself002 wrote:that is nutty, A-10s are made for low speed manuvers arent they? well low speed for a jet anyway. And an A-10 is more of a bomber than a fighter, so yeah, slow speed. Makes one HELL of a bomber due to how slow it can actually go and remain in the air and not stall. That and it's massive payload. In an F-15 you have to rely on your equipment to mark and hit targets. The A-10 can go slow enough that a pilot can do so by eye.

Is that the gun that's on the plane? That thing is "procreating" HUGE! Sweetness, I can see Arnold Swhweggneewere (yes I purposefully mispelled that, because I have no idea how it's actually spelled) walking around carrying that, terminator style.

I got to see one in person, and hold a round from that beast at the Aviation museum near Bradley Int'l in Hartford, CT.camthepyro wrote:Is that the gun that's on the plane?
