I'm thinking about a ninja 250 or a 500. Not sure if I'll be able to do a 250, since I might be too big for it.

Last time I checked I didn't have two bottoms, so I guess I'm alright then lol.
I hear people talking about size being a big problem on some bikes that are 250cc. But now that I see more posts about 250cc bikes, I see that isn't quite the case, lol.
Now I have to figure out which 250cc bike I want, lol.

The accomodations on my Honda 599 and a Ninja 250 are about the same ie everything fits in about the same spot. But the seat on the ninja is a lot lower then the seat on the 599, though that's only an issue it you stop...
As a side note I found it to be damn disconcerting to ride a bike with a full fairing, why? Because I use the clocks and front fender to determine if/how far I'm turning (at least I do subconciously). When you turn with a full fairing the forks and wheel turn, but all you see is a fairing that is straight ahead of you, no changes. I had to triple check that I'd actually moved the bars.

This may be a total newb questions, but I'll ask anyway.
Why is the lower seat an issue only if you stop?

Because then you need to put your feet down.
The distance from the pegs to the seat is the same, but from the pegs to the ground is far less. It shows up really fast... if you know what I mean.
Or if you're switching from the Kawi to the Honda it doesn't show up in time, which is really bad.

I'll disagree the Ninja 250 and the Honda 599 "fit" the same. I sat on a 250 in a dealership with my Roadcrafter on and my knee armor was hitting the tank. Quite uncomfortable.
I also took a friend's 250 up and down Spiral Highway and it felt a touch small in my suit.
The 599, on the other hand, fits perfectly with the suit on.

The Ninja 250 or 500 would be a good choice. Both of them meet your criteria, and have great reputations.
My personal choice would be the 500, as it has a more standard riding style to it, but that's a personal preference thing.
