If i had the $$$ i'd get Arata full sys, PC3USB, swap out the front end with 636 parts (03 636 front end is a direct bolt on, just need MX bars on it. The z750 top triple tree clamp solves that) a 170 rear tire (mich pilot powers), K&N pods (DOES have to be a universal pod that fits, do direct bolt on yet), stainless brake lines, REALLY nice brake pads, under tail (have this already though), and maybe some flush mount rear blinkers to REALLY clean that "O Ring" end up.
w/ all those upgrades... you should have just bought a ZX-6R or the ZX-6RR.

but anyway... im in the same boat as you. our bikes are entirely new models for this year.

maybe you should have said "could" I know you get a lot of "poo poo" for buying a GSXR straight off the back, but hey it's what you wanted right? Head to a club roadracing event sometime, watch one of the multi-class endurace races. You might be surprised how many supersport class bikes end up getting passed in the turns by lightweight twins class bikes - or outright beaten on tight tracks. Right now lightweight twin classes are dominated by the SV650, and the new Kawasaki is the first bike in years to have a chance to bring the noise.

If you ever find yourself around Atlanta w/ your bike - send me a message and I'll take you to some uberfun roads. Show you how the "weak" Suzuki twin handles the roads, hell I might even bring the new guy w/ his Kawasaki.

im sure an experienced rider will find the gixxer750 to be the better weapon than the SV.

im not good enough yet so of course, my 750 won't look so fast on those roads.

but anyway... since geoff is doing some crazy mods... that kinda beats the 650R's purpose of being a newbie bike. so that's why i said, he should have gotten a ZX-6R or ZX-6RR instead w/ all that mod money he'll spend.

haha even with all those mods, i'd maybe make 2 more hp than a stock SV tops. And if i wanted a 636 i woulda bought the 636. I like how comfortable the 650R is, i like the twin, and frankly, i just like the sound of a twin better than an I4. And yeah, two equally matched riders on a 750 vs sv650 the 750 will win, obviously, it has close to double the HP. Wait, there's something else. This is a first road bike. Last i checked, common sense said no to 600/636cc I4 sporties, though what would you know about that? And sure, adding all that stuff may seem pointless, but all i gotta say to that is TRE.

"Better weapon" depends on circumstances. You could argue that a stinger missile is better than a 12ga shotgun... but if you are hunting ducks you'd be wrong.

There is no one "best"... there is no one true path... all roads lead to enlightenment.

An experienced rider knows that you won't ever go WFO on even a GSXR600 on a tight mountain road - thus might just run with the more tractable, and constantly available torque of the very flickable twin platform sport standard. Of course he also knows if track records are what you're going for - a sport standard twin ain't the ticket.

I'm not flaming you at all, btw - just trying to broaden your horizons. I love the GSXR750 - as I said in the thread you reveal your new purchase in. Seeing as Iraq is yet again in my future, when I get back I'll be buying a track bike - and more likely than not it'll be a used GSXR. The SV will however remain my do-all bike. Betcha think I'm nuts for spending $2000 on suspension for it today too eh? :)

Ohlins setup? Gonna race the SV ever? Betcha the amateur twins class would be fun as all hell.

I reckon I've done entirely too much thread jacking here - so I'll post the suspension talk elsewhere. For now I'll leave you with two words, Traxxion Dynamics.
