I was reading the "Rockster" blog and noticed the mention of "Helen2wheels" packing system. It looks like a great system for getting what you need on your bike.

With several different bag sizes and configurations, it looks to be a simple method and fairly economical as well.

everything that everyone has posted is awesome...but the more important thing is Duct Tape! Yup...that is what I said...last year took a 7 day 8 state trip...and the only mechanical break down we had...could only be fixed on the side of the road by duct tape...and that was the only tools I brought...because the other person...brought the whole tool box...well damm close...

Make it 48 and the two cases of beer will be easier to tie down on the bike....

Well all the above statements are all good and such but one thing you need to make sure you do is when you pack your bike make sure that you have a rather even distrubution of weight so that your front end doent get to light. I have now a few friends that didnt pack right and was driving down the road into a small head wind and due to loading the weight wrong on the bike had a tank slapper and crashed hard. the one thing that saved them was there gear that they were wearing. If I remember right you said you had a tank bag right. Make sure you balance your weight using your tank bag. And be safe there are a LOT of CAGES on the road during this time and they will be looking at the kids in the back seat and the skyline and not to good at the road for a motorcycle.
