I just lifted the seat and ran the shoulder straps under it, with the backpack sitting on top. It sits quite nicely on the rear part of the seat. I've had a good 10 lbs. of junk in there and it doesn't move around much at all. Since the buckles are safely under the seat, I don't have to worry about anyone taking it. The only way to get the pack withount unlocking the seat would be to cut the straps off.
I'm curious, is that a regular backpack that you ingeniously figured a way to attached to your bike by using the seat to anchor it down? Or is a tail pack that comes that way? I don't want to wear a back pack for my stuff (I'm afraid to wear it in a store anyway, afraid the security guards will mark me as a potential shoplifter

I once got chased by the Walmart greeter that thought my helmet in my hand was something I didn't pay for) And I have bungee hooks but havent found a bike bag or net yet. Right now I am using a plane carry on case held down by a bungee cord and man is it U G L Y!!! And to secure it when I go in a store I padlock it through the zipper and through my helmet D-ring to my plastic passenger grip.
