There's a pic on the Deal's Gap website that has a picture board of roadrash and the like and right in the middle is a Blount Sheriff's car flipped over on the side of the road with the subtitle of something like "This was the last time the sheriff decided to chase a sportbike". I got a chuckle.

hard to tell from that video? looks about right but there was a 40mph sped limit sign and the limit on the gap (the dragon) is 30.

there were no cops either place this weekend. the limit on the skyway is 35 on the TN side, 45 on the NC side but its out in the middle of nowhere. we avereaged about 75 both sides. the gap, was more like 30ish but unless you have the balls to pass, you'll get stuck behid some middle-ager doing it at 15 mph.

Nope - the plant life and landmarks are all wrong.

You don't! just be glad your not in the oncoming lane. They really shouldn't let those big rigs through there...that's crazy.

Rig on gap

That's nuts with the rig. If I was the blue bike in back, I would have just stopped and sling-shotted back up after a while. Waste of a good road.

+1 The pocket bikes rock!!!!!!!!

Agreed but it is a public road. Problem is, on a map, it looks like a shortcut to Knoxville or Asheville and there's not enough signage warning "new" truckers about the road. :(

True. But a lot of the pulloffs on The Dragon "sneak up" on you and a lot of them have "run out of gravel" - that is, they haven't been graded in a while and there can be a significant drop off from the pavement to the gravel pulloff. :(

They should get the state boys to build some pull-offs.

Give opportunities for the slow-mo's to pull over to let the more experienced/bikes thru.

We have these on most roads in Colorado and they are great when people use them. If I'm in my cage on a fun road and bikes come up behind me, I always let them pass to enjoy the fun!
