Well I'm new to this corner of the forums so here's a little history on me.
I live in Campbell River, British Columbia and have been riding for over forty years. I enjoy Adventure Touring my dual purpose motorcycle and touring on my Harley. My first licensed bike on the road was a 200cc Triumph Cub in 1966 and my first Harley was a 1953 Hydroglide side shifter that I had on the road in 1967. I paid three hundred dollars for it. I'm not going to go into all the Harleys' I've owned as I would be at the computer for a long time. I've owned 11 Harleys', 12 if you want to count the 1999 Buell . My present Harley is a 2006 Dyna FXDBI Street Bob. In total I've owned twenty to thirty motorcycles many of them dirt, and dual purpose bikes. I can't remember the exact number but at one time I had five motorcycles in the garage. My ex-wife use get upset at the amount of time I spent working on my bikes. She's gone but I still have motorcycles. Usually I would put about 16,000 to 20,000 Km on my bikes per year but three years ago a drunk driver on the Island Highway crossed the centre line on a curve and hit me head on. My bike was destroyed and I was busted up pretty bad. Legs, back, pelvis, wrist and shoulder broken plus numerous soft tissue injuries. The guy was 3 times over the legal limit on the breathalyzer and ended up with 9 months in jail. The first season after the accident I rode less than a 1000 Km, the next season just over 4000 Km and this last season over 9000 Km. riding is a family thing as I have two grown sons that both ride and my Dad rode for over sixty years. His last Harley now belongs to a good friend of mine.
Enough of the rambling. I look forward reading and adding to the posts on this corner of the forums.
