once you release the clutch though... the throttle is what controls your bike's power.

but anyway... just practice the power walking too... it doesn't involve the throttle as well.

Once you have the bite point down and you are releasing the clutch from there?

Yes, otherwise your engine is likely to get bogged down on you and stall. No bad thing in a parking lot but not something you want to be dealing wth in traffic.

If I am shifting and pull the clutch then the engine is getting none of the available power.

If I fully release the clutch then the rear wheel will be getting all of the available power.

My lefthand always controls how much of the engines power the rear wheel is getting.

My right merely controls how much power the engine is producing.

yes, it will teach you the friction zone.

like i said... boring as hell but it will get you used to your bike's FZ.

they will make you power walk your bike in the MSF. i cheated though. i basically power jogged it so that i can reach the other end faster.

Verm is trying to tell you the same thing that I am.

Sit astride your bike both feet on the floor. With it in gear release the clutch until you find the bite point.

The bike should start straining to move forwards, and indeed may actually manage to move forwards.

Meanwhile your feet will be moving because the bike is moving, and will still be on the floor rather than on the bikes pegs.
