Both the 250 and 500 Ninja's are great sportbikes to learn on. They have even been known to pass guys on their "Real Super sport bikes" in the twistys.

Its not the bike, but the rider. I hope one day I can make my bike proud lol

I'd take a 500 through the twisties against a 600 any day.

With my skills I'd probably be just as fast if not faster on the 250

Edit: Compaired to my pace on my 500 I mean

Hey my first bike (which i still have) is a 2003 Honda CBR 954 that's never been tipped, when buying it the dealer told me "This bike has no conscious" if it takes off and your not on it it doesn't care...keep that in mind take it slow for a while you'll grow with the bike...

My advice to you though would be to get a cruiser bike because sportbikes are only fun for so long, you wont want to take long trips with it due to the uncomfortable position and you only go 100+ till your caught or killed.
