No "hotter" than without the buff. And, the Buff is easier to wash than my helmet liner. I've probably got a dozen of them so I've always got a clean Buff to wear.

They make them in CoolMax fabric, or "regular" fabric, as well as fleece, windproof, stormproof and thermal (for skiing or snowboarding).

I've been trying to find a source for these ponytail wraps. I'd seen them at a rally, and heard you can buy them at Rennaissance Festivals, etc.

They come in different lengths, hook to a hair elastic and keep your ponytail from getting snarled by the wind. There are even motorcycle charms to spice them up! (I've got short hair, so I can't tell how well they work. But they are cool looking.)

I also have long hair, usually I wear helmet first and jacket.I put my hair under the jacket to protect my hair.

The best solution I've found so far for my mid shoulder blade length naturally curly hair is to braid it either in a single french or in "Laura Ingalls" style braids. Which doesn't exactly do for work ... but I keep small bottles of my spritzer at work to try and work some oomph into it once I'm here, or I just pull it all up into a clip.

Does anyone know of any stores in Alberta that carry Buffs or is it just on-line shopping?

You might try a local sporting specialty shop - one that has bicycling and running gear, etc. I've seen them at my area REI store (outdoor goods), but they have a very limited selection.

One of the three BMW motorcycle dealers in the DC metro area has a pretty good selection of them, so you may see them in a motorcycle shop.

Is there a "find a store" feature on the Buff website? Try googling just plain "Buff Headwear"

I have found since I cut my hair into a Susan Powter-style (slightly longer) buzz cut that hair is not my porblem anymore! When I ride to work I work a little water into it to lift it back up and spread some gel. VIOLA'!! I'm good to go and DH thinks I look great without hair.... thank goodness! When riding on the weekends I just keep it covered with my bandanna or do-rag.
