A belt will last for many thousands of miles.

It's a very good starter cruiser. Many people buy the bike for that, and some continue to keep themj for quite a while. I started with my current bike a Suzuki M50 (805cc). I rode a friend's bike (V-Star650), and I did like mine better.... why" it definitely had more power. What I found was that an 800cc cruiser is not too big for a beginner.

I love my Vulcan 900. I couldn't be happier with it, although, there's not much in aftermarket for customizing her.
