and yeah, i was slowing down every now and then when i notice i can't see silentx anymore in my mirrors.
and damn! $300 for towing!!!???
i better upgrade my AAA account into the 100 mile limit. i'd hate to call them if get into an accident in the middle of nowhere.

Here is how it works with my insurance company: you call them and then roll the dice. There is 1 in 6 chance that they will actually help you.

Glad you're OK. +1 on getting a new helmet. The outer shell is resilient, so will bounce back into the original shape after absorbing an impact, thus (unintentionally) hiding the compressed urethane foam underneath. You do have the option of taking the helmet back to the manufacturers to let them inspect it. They will use x-rays to check the condition of the urethane foam underneath. But if I were you, I'd feel better to just get a new helmet; that way, no doubts.

My time came... I crashed. Wrecked the bike
I think that what is really making me nuts here is the title of this thread and silentx's assertion that it was unavoidable.
It says to me he really has no idea what happened so he can avoid doing the same thing again and going down again.
There was gravel. But by his own admission, it was an otherwise 'easy' turn. How did he hit the gravel, when Verm DIDN'T? (Or maybe Verm did, but he was hanging himself off rather than leaning the bike way over.) See what I'm getting at here? Was it target fixation? Did he simply not see the gravel in time? That little bike of his should have easily managed that turn.
I've been there (gone down) and I'm pretty confident that I know everything I did wrong that led to going down. That there was an 18wheeler coming at me over the line just made things more interesting. I did a series of stupid moves before I ever got to the truck.
Like silentx, one of the SMART things I did was wear full gear.
Silentx: Think about what happened... heal up. Ibuprophen is your friend.

i think he was just saying that before... he didn't think it could happen to him.
now, that he crashed... he suddenly saw how easy it is to mess up on a bike. hence, the topic title.
and yeah, it was a pretty easy turn and accdg to him... he wasn't going very fast. i also believe it was target fixation.
anyway... like all of us said, learn what you can from this mistake and move on.

Make sure you have the Motorcycle/RV AAA. He said that there a $200 limit one. thats like the best.
since I didnt have motorcycle AAA... it was no use.
Oh ya man.. no matter what people are saying.. I know you didnt go faster than I couldnt keep up.

Ya.. I know what you saying. But You got it totaly the opposite way.
Verm didn’t go down because he was on the road.. ( YES more EXP) I on the other hand did go down because of my lack of exp. Because of that TO ME.. "it was unavoidable." ( belive me I didn't want to go down

)

An accident happens not because of one action; be cause of series of actions/Factors (chain reaction)
In my case causes and Factors were
1)Rider EXP 42% ( Judgment 12% ; Target fixation 20%; Reaction 10%)
2)Gravel 40%
3)Tires 10%
4)Turn 5%
5)Speed 3%
There can be many other factors.
Had any of above factors been changed? this would have been worse or better.

what SUCK with the bike is I can't lean too far down I kept sliding the foot/pegs. One of the riders went pass me ( later we had stopped at a resting place) also told me that he saw I was sliding the pegs/foot. ( but YEA that has nothing to do with the ACCIDENT) --There must be a

I think it is more of a lack of knowledge rather than a lack of experience that caused the crash, especially since you said the turn was rather easy. The crappy tires on the 250 don't help the situation though. Was there gravel all across the road or just on the edges? Remember don't treat street roads like a track. Tracks don't have gravel and random debris on the edges of the pavement like street roads do.
I also do not believe everyone has to crash their bike once in their lifetime. Unless of course you mean everyone will atleast drop their bike atleast once, which I believe. If you believe you will eventually wreck your bike, you probably will.

Self fulfilling prophecy... I don't think I'll ever wreck a bike, but I wear my gear like I will. The important part is you're not seriously hurt.
Now the next thing to do is learn from your mistake and improve; or never get on a bike again. That part is totally up to you...
