There is a backlash starting to happen here. For the last few years, so many places had generic Christmas stuff....government buildings did away with Christmas trees, schools no longer had Christmas concerts or Christmas holidays...it became Winter fest and Winter break....

A lot of us who were born and raised here were getting so offended byt the fact that Canada had allowed all the immigrants to celebrate and have their festivals and traditions publicly, but at the same time repressing our traditions.

It's starting to come back to bite them....
We are starting to see "Merry Christmas" again.

The Muslims who came here lately started making waves about Christmas.....sheesh.....Saying they were offended by Christmas trees, etc., so our lily livered politicians catered to them at the expense of us who do celebrate Christmas.

Now there is something that irritates me! A relatively new immigrant group is going say "we're offended" to folks who have been celebrating Christian holidays for 100's of years.

that's how it works in this country, same thing with everyone having to have bilingual speakers, we bend ourselves over backwards to please a small amount of people

i also love how the peace sign is referred to as the "broken cross". that term came up in the sixties by religious freaks who were trying to negate the peace movement. in reality, the peace sign was invented by a brit (there ya go kal) to mean nuclear disarmament.
