Me? I am an O-Ring when it comes to tailgaters. I usually stop in the middle of the road and ask them if they need me to call for help as their must be some type of emergency.
NOW The Disclaimer: I am a trained professional and have tools with me that could aid me in the event of an attack. Though the United States Government spent countless amounts of money and hours training me as did the State of NJ, I am not invincible or bullet proof! I am not saying I am a big tuff looking guy, I just have a few screws loose. Do not, I repeat, Do Not take life lessons from me

Anytime!
You up north or down south? I am always looking for someone to ride with. All my friends buy $20.000 Harleys and park them in the garage and wax them! Like my name implies...I am BORED!

I really think most people look right past the bike to the next vehicle and are unaware that they are dangerously close. When I have been tailgated, I slow first, then wave my left hand behind me (the get off my backside wave). I've not had that many problems with tailgaters. If I was...I'm ready, just like Bored.

I slow down. Since I'm on my bike, and I love riding whether fast or slow, I'm still happy and I accomplish a number of goals:
1) (Most important) Gives me more room to react. If have to stop, I have time to do it slowly enough that the idiot behind me (IBM) knows what's going on; if I need to speed up, I have room.
2) Gives the IBM plenty of room to pass, should they choose to do so.
3) Gives the IBM incentive to pass. Tailgaters just don't seem to like going the speed limit (or whatever speed makes me feel comfortable when I'm 'driving for two', as it were) and tend to blow by at their earliest convenience. *shrug*
4) I can only begin to imagine how irritating it is for them...
I do like the ball bearings idea, too, though. Hmmm...

I realized that many people who change lanes to follow me are actually hoping that I will help them get to wherever they're going in shorter time but find out that the lane I'm in is also congested but after it slows down further I look for empty spaces to fill and be gone leaving the moron.
