Actually they have been just keeping a little bit behind demand in bumping out the limits of the city. It's scary to see how fast it grows. Where I live was cow pasture seven years ago, now it's a couple of miles to the country.....when will it stop? Ummmmm, when oil hits $10......?Sevulturus wrote:As for lots of new houses in Calgary what actually happened is the city of Calgary sort of grabbed up as much surrounding area as it could amalgamating all the outlying towns and suchforth into one giant city. This massively increased the tax revenue for the city. and all of the surrounding area was filled in with suburbs. So the gaps got used up.

Italy's the only country on the planet that will turn you away at the airport if you try to enter the country while wearing unfashionable shoes ...
I'm not joking ....

Look at the surface area of Calgary vs the surface area of Edmonton (the capitol). Calgary managed a massive landgrab and pulled in as many neighbouring towns as possible. Edmonton has been prevented from doing the same by those towns that want to stay independant.High_Side wrote:Actually they have been just keeping a little bit behind demand in bumping out the limits of the city. Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

All the little additions to the new monsters make it look a little "long in the tooth" now, but still much nicer than most bikes... and a little detail work on any bike can make a world of difference. i always liked them best without the little fairing, except i think in black it worked well. my eye is in tune with the originals of 10 years ago. Strange because i was at one of the local duck dealers the other day and really liked the red on red monsters (red frame, red fuel-tank...) like yours, but didn't look too close and see all the changes that i see in your pics (pipes, single arm...)
the monster's always been a fave street bike of mine, and a friend has both a 620 and a new 800 now... she's a silly girl... perhaps silly enough to loan one to me sometime
she hasn't mention wanting to sell the 620 (yet) so we shall see what is going on in that head of her's with not wanting to sell that 620.
BTW: not SHOES kids, but Italian FOOTWEAR... the finest boots!! I have always worn AlpineStars, StylMartin and Sidi boots! oh, plus one set of Gaerne... ahhh that's Italian! oooooh soo comfy, "Rich Corinthian leather!" (Ricardo Montalbahn/Eugene Levy) -- they wouldnt turn me away at the airport, with my classic Eddie Lawson replica Styl Martin's
