It's not about the gadgets Bubba. Some people just like to have music playing more than others. Silence is a beautiful thing, as are the sounds of nature and the roar of a well-tuned bike. But don't slag people for loving music. I've been a musician since 1978, and I have music playing when I drive, when I ride, when I work in my office, while I read. Sometimes I listen to it, sometimes it's just there in the background.
Some might say a motorcycle is a gadget, and why not just enjoy the pure feeling of walking? You're sure not feeling the earth or hearing the birds sing while cruising down a highway on a bike. Does that make you brainwashed? Of course not.

Don't know Bubba, but after about two hours of hearing my engine roar and the wind buffeting my helmet, I am in the mood for a change of pace.......soooo........Rock On Bro......

I try to keep playlists new and interesting. Stole a party mix from a friend recently that had a lot of stuff I normally wouldn't listen to. Normally I like 70s/80s rock, techno, trace, maybe a bit of newer rock thrown in for good measure.
Finally took the plunge of listening to my ipod on the commute to work, and it def makes it go by a bit nicer

No music if I have a radio and can pick up NPR or some talk radio programs. I prefer these to music unless I am riding balls to the wall. In which case I lissen to well, Accept.

I'm too new to listen to tunes while riding yet but when I do its gonna be some Def Leppard, Van Halen, good Metallica and other such bands. hehehehe

As mentioned a couple times already (and I apologise for the redundancy) I recently purchased a criminally low milaged 1998 FLHTCUI w/ sidecar. It has all the bells and whistles. So much so it comes with its own user manual and instruction video. This for a guy who just learned how to post a photo on the forum (and now I am expected to shrink it too, oh whoa is me
). I'm not even worrying about all the new electronic stuff on the bike until I am comfortable and competent with the whole dresser, sidecar deal(for those who have never have the pleasure it does all kinds of things someone who has road a single bike for 36 years is not used too). I can see me now................cruising along with the tunes blaring not having a clue about emergency procedures with a side car and then "Blam" something happens. Hopefully if its the last thing I hear it will be one of my favorite songs.
