I surley did not give up I assure you, And who ever said Im unaware of speed is ignorant. But I know there is a difference between a car an bike I get that so I cant say I know what its like on a bike. But no I havnt "Givin Up" Ive sence got a job an am saving up money for a down payment on a 1000cc so my monthly payments wont be so high. Also I might be trading my truck for a 2004 GSX-R 1000 if everything goes as planned. Ive put a lot of thought into getting a Ninja 250 because of the price, payments, insurance an so on but that bike is not me. It would be like putting someone who needs space in a closet or something like that. I know me better than anyone an I would out grow that bike in a week an I would be trying to push it to its limits doing 100mph everywhere I go because I wouldnt respect it an all I would be thinking is "Well its just a 250". Were as if on a more powerful bike I would know that is a second my life could end at the speeds it can reach an the short amount of time it takes to get there. Its hard to explain, I might be young an oblivious but I never never speed or be wreckless when it endagers other peoples lives. For instance when I drive my friends around I do the speed limit, when Im in traffic or on a public road I even do under the limit just to be safe. But on the other hand when Im on the interstate at night with zero traffic I drive as fast as my right foot takes me. Sometimes pushing speeds up to 120mph+

Oh yeah, start on the 1000cc. Why worry about outgrowing a bike when you can be stick to thinking about being buried with it. Best of luck to you

The town I live in has less than 30,000 people, not like I have to worry about that much traffic for me to get buried. And Im sorry if I dont have the money to be buying a different bike each season. But when I make an investment I want it to last an not have to replace it or upgrade every so often. Same way when I buy speakers for my Van. I dont go from road masters to JVC to kickers(Just an example). When I buy something its for the long hall that Im not going to get tired of. I buy something that will grow with me and take it slow till I feel comfortable with my own abilities an limitations.

I wasn't counting on the traffic doing you in but rather your attitude and general ignorance about motorcycles.

Just so you know, the ninja 250 does great in places with traffic, crazy drivers and high speed roads (DC Metro area). Enough power to out accelerate most cars, carry you and your gear and still be a hooligan.

If you get the 1000cc gsxr though get the blue one, I might need parts someday.

You DO know that your insurance rates are still going to be pretty nasty, right? Why aren't you in school working on that awful spelling of yours? If you plan on financing a bike, you may be forced to carry full coverage insurance by the bank that provides the loan. Have fun with that.

So what makes you so exceptional that YOU would outgrow a fantastic bike in a matter of days? Don't respect the bike at all, eh? You probably shouldn't even be near a bicycle...

It only takes one car (oftentimes less...) to get tangled and mangled up pretty nicely.

You only "outgrow" a bike if you need more speed. But, uh, you just said you don't speed. And those 250s are mighty quick. They're not going to just fall over dead on you in a few days, months, or even a few years.

I can assure you that the engine of any motorcycle you purchase isn't going to miraculously increase in size or abilities...


Slow day at work - this is entertaining.

First off , I think its cute that you quote everything I say. And I said I never speed when it endangers people. And I am in school from 8-3 an usually work from 4-10. So sorry if my spelling isnt up to par for your standards. I know what the bike can do, an will do so I dont need to waste my time watching videos Ive probly already seen. There are countless people who started out on 1000s even a few on Busa's Im sure. The motorcycle isnt whats dangerous its the person riding it. A horrible rider could drive a 250 off a cliff as easy as a 1000. And I know its not nesscesary the power that gets you but the brakes an how nible they are. So you dont need to tell me things I already know. And if god forbid somebody pulled out infront of me while I was driving wreckless an speeding atleast I wouldnt feel it.

Whoa guys, 8-3 probably means he's still in high school. No self respecting college student would do that to themselves. Arguing with him would be more pointless than selling a razor to a feminist

The last thing I'll say is if you knew what that bike will do then you'd man up and get a Yamaha. Suzuki's are clunky slow POS's man. I'd rather have a kawi or even a hyosung.

Yes, because me being in high school changes everything. Even though youve never seen me or talked to me you just write me off like every other high school kid who wants a bike just because he seen something in a movie. I forgot that I watch Biker Boys 5 times a day an dream of having NOS on my motorcycle just so I can shoot flames out of my pipes. Because then I would get all the girls an I would have friends. And its not like Ive ridden dirt bikes for 10 years or have owned a quad. Also while I was growing up working on motors I have no concept of speed or Horse Power to Weight ratio. All I know is that a big wing I buy at auto zone adds 20hp an when V-TEC kicks in on my honda its like Im in a rocketship!!!!!

Whatever you choose to do, just learn at your own pace.

Most advise(me included) not to start out with a bike with so much power, but if that's what you really want...nobody can tell you different. I've seen people learn on CBR1000s/GSXR1000s and do quite well. I've also seen the opposite.

Just be safe and be careful on that thing...I've rode a CBR1000 before and that horse was scary fast. Fun for a while but not my cup of tea.
