those really aren't bad pants. i've been playing the odds and using draggin jeans. i was thinking about something to go over them (or other pants) that i can zip on and off.

what's y'all's thoughts on these?

Glad you survived your ordeal and thanks for sharing. Would you say that the coats and pants with stratigically placed kevlar would be instrumental or leather pants and coats is the way to go?

For commuting I would just use kevlar jeans. I have a pair myself and wear it if I'm not going to be going too fast. I doubt the protection is even comparable compared to leather pants with thick armor though. But you know... sometimes wearing those thick and heavy leather pants is not feasible so then I'd wear kevlar jeans.

All about personal preference. leather with armor will be superior to jeans if you want the most superior protection.
