Whoah, awesome suggestion! Forgot about the magnas. Was tempted to get one, my friend was selling his a coupla years ago, cheap, but since it was gonna be my first bike, I decided against it. A Magna now would be pretty sweet though.
The Enfields look fantastic, but front drum brakes? Er, thanks, but no thanks. I know they can come with a disk too, but disks on an Enfield look wrong somehow.

Cool and safe are seldom the same thing
I'm with you though. I don't want a rear drum, much less a front drum

And here is the first pic of my new retro standard (complete with mud from winter riding in Calgary)!

Good on ya High_Side, welcome to the dark side. Bike looks pretty clean to me but what's all that white stuff on the ground??

Thanks Feliz. The white stuff is what you get when it doesn't rain all of the time

Well, I'm a retro standards expert! (Not really, I just like them...)
This is what I have now:

Zephyr 750 (although this one is a lot cleaner then mine...)
And this is what my next bike will be:

ZRX1200R
Both bikes are no longer for sale in North America, and the Zephyr was harder then sin to find, but a great ride.

How about the Honda 599, aka "the Hornet"? I understand it didn't sell real well here in the States, but did better in Europe and Asia.

I wouldn't call my Hornet a retro bike. Standard, certainly, but not a retro.

Every Guzzi is a retro standard, and are probably the easiest of the bunch to maintain.

Meh. That bike looks blah to me. I'd rather have a Breva 750.
I might like it better though with flat bars, a flyscreen, a solo seat, bobbed fenders and upswept pipes....
