Errr, the way I'm gaining weight I might need something a bit bigger than my normal full scale.

I'm back up to 185... And I might need new pants just to keep riding.

Oh, any 1 piece that's all leather and neat like that seems better than what I have now.

But sometimes I wonder if I could see myself riding down the road in something other than day-glo green/yellow. I have a red/black jacket, but I only wore it once.

Finally, rode out to work again

Well, finally got to ride in to work today. 86 miles.

My mallet finger made the riding a bit uncomfortable. It was fairly cold this morning, but not incredibly so with full gear, liners and dress clothes underneath.

User my tail bag... I've run some tests and found something very interesting.

The tail pipes on the B-King do not get hot - not even a little bit.

To be more precise the exhaust covers which surround the mufflers and exhaust pipe do not appear to get warm. So, my previous thoughts about not being able to use saddlebags isn't the case.

This is a very good thing. But usually the tail-bag is more than enough storage for me.

Same thing with my V-strom - I've brushed up against them by accident right after turning off the bike, and they were only warm, not hot. Suzuki at least has found a good way to insulate these things.

I'm really happy about this. I don't have to worry as much about my boys burning themselves on the pipes (the rest of the engine still gets warm) when I park in the garage and then we immediately go out shopping. We tend to use the garage as ingress and egress from the house instead of the doors.

Well, another bunch of miles down the road. Followed my wife in the minivan figuring out where a Suzuki dealer to get my first maintenance done.

It was a nice ride this past Sunday - it seemed that everyone that had a bike in NJ was on it and riding down the highway.

For a little while it was a HD, my wife in the van with the boys (and the girls in her belly) and me.

He changed lanes and we were still a group for a while. He had some kind of loose jacket on that was flapping like crazy. Not sure I'm a big fan of that - I know it would have annoyed me to no end.

After riding back home my wife noted to me that she hates the way people follow so closely behind bikes.

The mirrors on my bike aren't that great. There was a couple of times where I would look behind me to change lanes to find a car directly behind me that I didn't know was there. Thinking about getting the Oberon bar-end mirrors, but they are too pricey for the economic times.

I haven't had any issues with locating accessories for the b-king. It is all out there if you search for it. Mostly, it is in Europe. Not too bad, though as long as you don't mind the conversions and the shipping.

There is a neat (but expensive) tank cover out there and silver engine covers that would complement the look of my bike.

Both; however are around 100 Euros + shipping. I'm hoping these things are still available when I've got the cash.

I've also been thinking about chroming certain parts of my bike. The tail and the small black engine covers (mentioned above) would make it interesting looking.

But it is all probably a waste of money. I mean right now... I haven't even gathered the money to repair the damages I did from dropping the bike twice.

Cosmetic, issues though. It still rides nice.

Mileage has been mediocre at best. 41 or 42 on straight highway riding, 34 - 36 on the commute and short distance riding.

Oh, well.... 401 miles - 199 to first maintenance. Lots of miles to go for the year.

Pregnancy

Children #2 and #4 are attempting to escape from my wife - a couple of weeks too early.

So, my wife and I are at the hospital. A little bit of drugs and laying down all the time and the contractions have become disorganized.

I'll post pics as soon as they are born - but hopefully that won't be for a couple more weeks!

Huh :) Ooops #3 and #4. That's what I get for typing messages on my cell phone. :)

Thatnks Writer and fireguzzi! She is resting now at the hospital by herself resting. It is probably the best thing for her to be away from #1 and #2... Ahhh yes, I got those numbers right.

My wife is back at home, but on strict bed rest. If she can make it one week more, I consider that great. The Dr. wants two weeks, but when I get the change to post a pic of her you'll understand that may well be a physical impossibility.

I have a positively freakish picture of her lying on her back on the couch while having a contraction.

It is almost hard to believe that her belly is a part of her body.

Anyway, steroids and labor reducing drugs did their work.
