Pretty young lady in her 20's... "uummm, it says you want a 42 tooth sprocket."

Me...."No, I have a 42 tooth sprocket, I want a 45-6."

Her..."Arn't you a little old to be a stunter?"

Are you sure??? Aren't you the one that picks up Asian women like its nothing.

Oh Man! I wish I was!

I got a weakness for Asian women that would make kryptonite look like a marshmellow to Superman.

Luckily for me, not a one has realized that she could make off with everything I own in 2 days or less.......

Yep, I've gotten a lot more relaxed in general, and much much more conscious of the situation behind the wheel. Now as for mister grad scholar... A few more years and you may end up looking like ole SlimColo!

I don't know about personality change but I'm constantly amazed by the intimidation factor that a motorcycle seems to bring. On today's ride alone there were 2 or 3 times at intersections where someone else had the right of way but waved me through, once on a twisty road where I was behind a car and not pushing them at all yet they pulled over to let me past, and then I went into a McDonald's and two guys were there before me, but they waved me ahead of them in the line. OK, I am 250 lbs, with a shaved head, and was wearing a leather jacket and engineer boots. But, sheesh, I'm a college professor and was wearing Dolce and Gabban glasses and an Oris watch! I don't even intimidate my dog.

That's got to be your or the bike. My suzuki gets no respect. Especially at Suzuki dealers.

They're all like 'so what'd you get taken for on that bike...'

But in this particular instance, I decided to leave the bike in the McDonald's parking lot instead of taking it to the counter with me so that can't be it!

This time last year when I was learning to ride, it really annoyed me when people would wave me in front of them. It was like the pressure of having people watch you drive when they let you play through on the golf course--it just increased my chances of stalling. But now with 14 months of riding (and 21K miles), I enjoy being able to shoot out from the crowd.

Ok, well, I suppose I was borderline normal for the first 23 of my 27 riding years until I got that damned Ural. The more I rode it, the more I began to display some anti-social behaviour...

I guess I was a bit more genial back in the mid 80's when I was riding my BSA...
