I think it would be along the same lines as someone messing with your car.

I use to park on the sidewalk close to the wall at the far end of Walmart until they started handing out tickets. I only started parking there when the bike got hit in there parking lot, so now dont go to that Walmart.

In Mexico and Central America, the Motorcycle was parked and locked inside the hotel room every night. Only had the problem of forgetting to turn the gas off one night.

ill park anywhere where it is safe, im not an obstruction, close to where I have to be, and if its free. Its legal to park ya bike on a footpath in my state so im takin full advantage of it, plus in doing so ya give some poor puck an extra chance to park their car in the space ya havent used.

I usually park in the lined off area's, if not in the way of handicaps or pedestrians. I won't usually park on the sidewalk unless it leaves room for pedestrians to walk past and there is no were else to park.
I was actually told once by a security officer, when I parked in the regular parking spot, that I could park on the sidewalk if I wanted, which of course I did.

If I'm going to a mall, grocery store...any place with a huge parking lot, I normally look for the light poles in the parking lot because normally they take up room in a spot that normal cars would not fit into. If that's not available and have to take a car spot, I park right at the entrance to the space so some car won't think it's an empty spot and come whipping in and --crunch--

I park wherever I reckon I'll get away with it and no-one is going to be inconvenienced. I've never had any flack parking on the pavement (U.K. pavement = U.S. sidewalk), though I don't think it's strictly legal. Or maybe it's only illegal if you are causing an obstruction. I'm not sure. There used to be this weird loophold in the law which meant that no-one could touch you if you parked on the pavement over someone's cellar light inlet, but that's been changed now.

Round here there is very little dedicated motorcyle parking, so you have to take your chances where you can.

At work I park in the courtyard behind the office. The downside is that the courtyard is directly opposite the local courtroom where all the local bad guys gather before having their cases heard. There is CCTV but it is usually pointing away from the bikes and towards the executive parking bays. Same old story!

Sometimes I can't get to park there at all because the chief executive doesn't give a "poo poo" and often parks at an angle across three parking spaces. I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions.

Anyone know what's legal in ol' California? I would like to park my bike up on the sidewalk at work (would be able to see it from the department in which I work).
One of the night time employee's parks his bike inside because they lock the doors between 1am and 5am....wish I could do that

They lock their employees inside the building?
