When we first moved here we went to the Birmingham bike show and one of the booths tried to sell us on an "insurance scheme" they had.

They didn't pick up on our facial expressions but once we figured out what was going on we said "OHHH.. You mean scheme in a good way!"

But, as I've said before, it all "swings in roundabouts"!

Blimey, that's a bit puzzling, Sunshine. I think what you have actually heard Brits saying is: "its all swings and roundabouts." (Kinda makes your point, doesn't it?)
OMG!!!!

This is what happens when you
hear sayings but don't know exactly what is being said! Definitely, case in point!!!
You know what else through me for a loop? When someone asked if I was going to pick up some "Kendall mint cake" on our drive through the lake district. I said, "did you just ask me for some "kendallmingache"?
It still happens quite regularly in the office that someone has to say "What did you just say?", whether that's me or them speaking!

I don't have a favorite language, but I have a dream that I turned into my goal - I want to learn a new language every year. Since the beginning of this year, I have already begun to master the Italian language, which is difficult for me. But I hope that I will succeed.

This is a cool goal. Good luck with its implementation.

I really like the way Italian sounds. But there is no point in studying it, since it is spoken only in one country. It is much more productive to learn Spanish or Portuguese. Although, you can also learn Chinese - a very large percentage of the world's population speaks it.

I think Patois is very cool. I love Jamaican music and culture.

I don't have a straight answer because I like some European languages like Italian and French, but Japanese has a nice rhythm and structure, so I'd like to learn it too. Bur for now. I can't even manage to learn my first foreign language. Well, I know Italian a little bit, thanks to Duolingo, but I can't speak it. I think I need a tutor to work with.

I like British English and British drama. Of course I am an absolute fan of Shakespeare and all his works, especially Othello. I recently read several very important articles about English drama, about William Shakespeare and the problems of his drama, which I had never thought about before.
