No, not everyone will drop their bike. But, I think you can count on it and consider yourself lucky if you don't. It is not a matter of being careful or not. New riders, myself included, make mistakes. Read the past threads. they are full of post from new riders that have dropped their bikes, some more than once or twice. While most of them are very slow speed tip overs, they will still damage that new $15,000 Harley pretty good.

Saying you will never drop your bike is like saying you will never have a car accident. Nice target to shoot for, but pretty hard to do, even for the most careful/skilled rider or driver. Too many factors can lead to 'ouch'.

I was in the same situation, it had been 10 years since I had my last bike. Decided since I wasn't getting any younger, now was the time to start again. I picked up a '05 C50' cruiser. Its been one of the most comfortable rides for these old bones and very easy to handle. Just remember the old saying we had years ago. though, "the day you think you've mastered riding your bike is the day its gonna bite ya"

I had not ridden for over 14 yrs, I am now 50 yrs old, I bought a small bike 454 ltd kawasaki and a few months later I moved up to a 750 vulcan. I picked up pretty much where I had left off. I am 5 ft. 3 in. tall wieght 116 lbs. The bike weights at 450 to 500 lbs. I don't have any problem riding. I don't see why you should not be able to ease in to riding again what ever bike you like. Have fun, ride safely. Welcome back.

I bought a bike, decided to go conservative on my first purchase (in 15 years). Below is the bike. 1996 600CC Honda Shadow VLX with 6,500 miles on it. It's in great shape. Paid $2,600 for it. Think it's a decent deal?
Thanks.
