Just got back from vacation. Amazing how time flies and you don't realise that you haven't taken a break in over a year! Andrea and I went to the Caribbean on a 7 day cruise with Carnival and we got to stop at Montego Bay, Jamaica; Georgetown, Grand Cayman Islands and Cozumel, Mexico. We really enjoy going off the beaten path away from the tourist areas and go into the local areas where you get to see the people, culture and experience the real area.
Montego Bay, Jamaica was the most fun as we explored Montego Bay area and in the city. We had an hour tour and got to see important landmarks, the first jail, the first chruch, went swimming at the beach and even a school yard full of really excited kids (grade 1-6 I would guess). Food wise we eat Jamacian beef patties, coco bread and even celebrated our 10th Anniversary with Jamacian champagne (Kola champagne) plus had outdoor Jerk chicken, beans and rice and festival bread for lunch as well. Andrea also bought a few little things as well there in the market.
Everything went to Hell in Georgetown in the Grand Cayman Islands when we visited Hell, Grand Cayman (yes, there is a town there called Hell due to it's unique sulpher hills). The island was fun, we took local transit, ate a place called Timbuctuu and spent time walking around in the warm sun and going to the beach. Andrea loves the water so much. Speaking of water, the water around the Grand Cayman is amazingly blue, like sapphire impossible blue, blue! If we go there again it will have to be to snorkel.
Cozumel, Mexico was pretty much a let down and a place we wouldn't even get off the boat if we visited it again. It's really just a tourist trap with nothing much to do there other than shop or drink. The island is actually a huge coral reef so it would be best to not be on land but in the sea here! We did have a pitcher of Don Equis XX at the Three Amigo's Bar and made the best of it!

On the cruise ship? Yes and it was very good, but only had it twice.

When putting the South California bike show tickets in the mail yesterday I took the opportunity to ride my bike to the post office. Ah, what a great feeling! Still very, very happy with the bike, just puts a massive smile on my face riding it.
And I still can't believe I'm riding it in December and it's warm out!

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" really? Do these Houstonians (?) even know what a snowman looks like?! How am I supposed to get "in the Christmas spirit" when everyone is walking around in shorts and T-shirts? LOL.
Well, at least we went for a quick ride tonight to a bike meet that didn't really happen except for a few bikes (might be because Thanksgiving is tomorrow?).
Overall, a very nice night ride though.
