Thats the plan, or rather camping out in the Mouse's magic kingdom in Orlando before going to Biketober and then back to Orlando so we can harrass any rodents we missed the first time round. :D
You'll have to keep me posted on what you decide. I'll probably be heading out to the festivities this year.

No worries!

Maybe if we think of bikes more as girls (or guys depending on preference)

You dont have to fancy your friends girlfriend , just accept and respect that they do...*

*This analogy might need some work...

Yeah, me too, I went last year, and then to bike week this year. The ride over was fun (up through the Ocala Nat'l Forest) but Hayabusa + stop and go traffic = overheat, and your bike doesn't move much in Daytona during either of those weeks. If you guys want to get together and do some riding though, I'm up for it.

If someone with a smaller bike would care to lend it to me*, I'll happily take it on to the Freeway's round there.

If I cant cope on a 400-500cc bike as recomended by a lot of the American riders on here I'll stand a pint for everyone on the forum.

*We were trying to rent one and cruise from Daytona to Orlando, but it seems impossible to rent a mid sized bike in Florida.
Just wait until you get here and see the traffic. Here is an example, Interstate 4 has 3 lanes of traffic each way between Orlando and Tampa. Traffic moves at appox. 80 mph with about a 3 car length distance between cars, if you go slower, you have people passing you at incredible speeds and making sudden lane changes. All three lanes will be full of traffic and then from out of nowhere the flow goes from 80 down to 40, screeching tires and most every day a few crashes. I don't want to be the guy riding two up on a ninja 250 doing 60 when the guy behind me doing 80 and doesn't see me comes plowing into me.

It's not that Americans just want bigger (although some do) there is some justification to it.

I will ride 100 miles out of my way to avoid the congestion, I've been rear ended too many times and don't want it to happen on a bike.

Was the heat that bad last year? This summer feels like it's one of the hottest yet in my three years here so far. I think it'll be a lot cooler come October, though.

I think it was in the 90's both times. I remember definately hot enough not to want to walk around wearing my riding jacket. It could have been in the 80's though, I have a terrible memory.
