Hey guys!, im new to this forum and all, but it's awesome to find a local forum, although I dont have a bike yet, cant wait to pick my first one up, get my license and maybe hook up and ride with someone from here. Right now im in abbotsford.. (40 min from vancouver.)

Welcome Kawasaki. as you can see this forum doesn't get used a lot. Glad to see another person find their way here. I gather from your handle that the bike you'll be looking for will be a Kawasaki?

Hi everyone,I was looking around for tips and events and found this site.I am back on the road again after many years without a bike,well 1/2 on the road ,I went back to the parkinglot to get my slow ride skill tuned up as I never had to do that type of stuff years agoe when I got my first ride.Looking forward to the summer.

hey, old-n-slow, maybe as the summer gets into full swing, we'll have more stories to share.
Last fall, I was a passenger on a friend's bike when we did a day trip to the island. We started via Nanaimo, met some friends for lunch in Ladysmith, and then continued down island to come home via Victoria.
It was a nice sunny day, but by the time we got off the ferry in Tsawassen it was a chilly ride home.
Now when I go anywhere, I take extra gear. There has been a couple of occasions when the weatherman lied and I took along rain gear.....just in case....I am so glad I did. I went up the Sunshine Coast ( more like liquid sunshine coast) to visit. Coming home it was like a monsoon had hit the whole west coast.
Do you have any experience with heated gloves? Do they really work? During the winter, my fingers were the one area I couldn't seem to keep warm.

Blues-- I had heated mitts for ice fishing, heated socks for snowmobiling but never used heated gloves for riding the MC in cold weather. You have a choice of heated gloves or heated grips. I am of the opinion that the gloves might make the better choice. I might be tempted to buy some hand protectors to help keep the wind off of my hands. You could always remove them come warmer weather. I typically don't bother to license my bike over the winter however there are many out here that do and a few of the gals in our riding group seem to be the hardiest. As for myself, not so.
