Hey Grunt - I'm a veteran too man. But I gotta say, it's really unwise to put all your eggs in one basket. Fox news has some interesting stories, so does CNN, the BBC, the Tehran Times (iranian news), Al Jazeera (arabic news) Shinwa (Chinese News) .... I could go on.

Humans have innumerable feelings, innumerable situations and so many different outlooks on life it's unbelievable. You can probably find the truth by sorting through as many news and media outlets as possible and determining the median story - where they all come together.

Just because we are veterans doesn't mean that we should let our prejudices (love of God and Country and our fellow brothers-in-arms) determine which news we get our information from.

P.S. Here's something that will blow your mind - the Idea of the President as "Commander in Chief" only came about in the 80's under the Reagan Administration... A PR Stunt that was embraced by the military and the right wing. Nothing is sacred dude.

They don't call it the "news business" for nothing.....Like every business, news is self-serving, and as SV said, the spin is different in various parts of the world for the purpose of winning market share and the advertising $ that go with that, in addition to appealing to the residents hearing the news. Whatever "facts" you think you are getting from Fox, CNN, or MSNBC, they are a demonstration of manipulation of hearts and minds on your part of the planet.
