Probably true--I did resist the urge to trade it, found a guy with a code scanner, also buying a shop manual. As usual, if you want something done right [as long as it isn't too difficult], do it yourself. One sensor failure in 75k miles is really not bad service.
I just had the misfortune of getting screwed by the repair shop, which charged twice what the Toyota dealer would have.
