Although its a cruiser, I went through the same thought process as Vermillion when I bought my Harley.

I faced everything mentioned here
  • Will I void my warranty if I change it myself or take it anywhere else than a Harley dealership?
Its going to cost $220 for every oil change!!?!
What I ended up doing was taking it to the dealership for the initial change. As has been said, they also look to make sure everything is still attached correctly and all the new stuff is falling into place like it should.

The next oil change I asked around and found a really well known and respected guy who owns a shop that works exclusively on Harley's but he only charged $60 for the oil change. Got it, put the paperwork in my motorcycle file and if anything happens and there are questions, I have paperproof of following the maintanence schedule.

And $60 so I don't have to worry while I'm crusing along if I screwed everything as tightly as I should is worth it :)

cool, i've called the suzuki dealer around here... they estimated around $130 for all the maintenance needed for the break-in.

im gonna go out now and rack 50 more miles to make my 600 miles. and then i'll go to that dealer. i'll be pissed if turns out to be way higher that what i was told on the phone.
