WELL??? FEBRUARY 11TH WAS D-DAY.... I have a wonderful friend, Jim, who lives 2 hrs away from me, who offered to help me go get the bike. I got about an hr and a half away, and it had started snowing, and i drove past a couple accidents, scared me. I got to Jims house, and we started the trek to Chicago. Found the guys house, knocked at the door. I felt like i was going on a first date!!!!!!!!! We walked back to the garage, and he opened the door, took the cover off.. and WOW.... NICE.. I bought it for less than what he was asking, we got it on the trailer, in the ice, and snow, and sleet, and salt..... and brought her 4 hours back home. Now she's sittin in the garage, and i haven't even started her in my own garage, im DYING HERE :P Today it's supposed to be 30.. time to put the battery back in and start it in MY garage. Even though i can't ride... not yet...Went to DMV paid them their "chunk of change" got a cool license #.. which has to be an omen right?? lol Well anyway here's a pic..... im so damned proud i can't stand it.

Congratulations!!! :D  It IS a wonderful thing isn't it? Your bike is very similar to mine, only you have way more accesories already on yours.. :P

Looks to be in good condition too. Man, I thought I was gonna have a hard time waiting for the snow to melt.....nothing compared to what I am sure your feeling right now!

Oh, and as for that silly grin.....I had one on my face for 3 months straight whether I was on my bike or not!! Heck, just reading your post put that silly grin right back on mine!!

so i go out in the garage, put the new battery in her, and sit on her, follow the "finec" protocol, hit the start button... no start........ DAMN......... did everything i knew how to do... nothing.. :?

explained the situation to one of my friends, who lives close, he came over and gave me a lesson in how to change spark plugs... he straddled the bike when he was done... hit the start button... vvvvvrrrrroooooommmmmmmmm..... rumble rumble rumble.... :righton: then i got on her and sat there.. the adrenaline was so high i was shaking. here it was, my bike, in the garage, and running,,,, which i was beginning to wonder about..

BRING ON SPRING, ugh..... am i saying that??? from 250 to 650 cruiser??? OMG.

My wife and i were at the kawasaki dealership looking for my next bike (the new vulcan 900). and she fell in love with the vulcan 500. shes about 5'6" and had no problem flat footing it at all, and she said it felt really light.
ive done my research on it, and it ends up being alot of bike magazines favorite mid size cruiser. it has the same engine as the ninja 500 and was faster than most 800 cruisers with better gas milage. :D

Well done. I've just cracked 1000km (600 miles) on mine since new.
