Well that would sure explain why she clicked twice and twisted the wrist when some old man on a Victory came up behind her... lol
Got a lot done on the Gixxer 600 I'm working on last night. Those plastics are like a jigsaw to put together. But it is rather fun getting it done lol. Now to do the oil/filter change, coolant change, finish the plastics, and install LEDs... By Friday night...

Re: What did you do today...
Worst traffic jam I've ever experienced in my life (54 years & counting....) was in Boston. I flew into Logan, rented a car, headed out on the freeway going south..... and went nowhere for 5 hours.zeligman wrote:I live about 15 miles north of Boston, which translates to about an hour and a half drive - and decided to take the bike in full city traffic into the city today for a conference i was attending.
well, the hour and half turned into TWO and a half hours - HORRIBLE traffic in a combination of 2, 4, and 6 lane highways ... All I wanted to do was lane split to get ahead, but didn't because a) pretty sure its illegal here, and b) considering that I was stretching my skill envelope a bit to begin with, thought it might be a fairly stupid idea. So I waited my turn in the interminable line of cars.
Oh, don't worry. I contend with my share of obscure electrical gremlins: they simply infect my car, not my motorcycles. (Thank you, Volkswagen!!sv-wolf wrote:The only thing that restrained me from making an excedingly tart remark about your extremely unkind one was the recollection that you are another working soul labouring under the yoke of capitalist exploitation.jstark47 wrote:(p.s. I DID ride a motorcycle to work, though. A Triumph motorcycle. A Triumph motorcycle with a functional electrical system, no less!!)
Count yourself lucky, JS! You really don't deserve it!

Ummm...... so you're point is that your bike's a Yamaha and it didn't malfunction?blues2cruise wrote:addendum to jstark....I rode to work and then cruised around after work....on a yamaha.

Why would it malfunction? SV-Wolf hasn't been near it to jinx it, has he?

Re: What did you do today...
Called Ride Now yesterday about my R1--somehow the company they order parts from shipped them the wrong stuff for my bike (read as: they're effing morons and ordered the wrong "poo poo"). Might get my bike back next week according to the service guy i talked to, but if i could believe their time estimates i woulda had my bike a month ago.
Called Geico about the medical settlement on my accident--my adjuster wasn't in so i got to explain to the useless twit he shares an office with that i didn't want her to do anything because it's just an exercise in frustration to talk to her.
Got an email about the '78 GL1000 i'm suppsed to pick up tomorrow. as long as the shop did everything he asked them to it should be ready. i'm crossing my fingers, i'm REALLY looking forward to getting this bike so i hope it all goes like it should.

After work, I went to hear a Rock'm'roll band in Biggleswade and had the best night out I've had since before Di died. I also got more thoroughly pissed than I have been in years. Yay!

Haha sounds like you had a good time buddy!
I was told not to finish a bike because I didn't have the proper parts. After I was told to finish it anyway because the customer was extremely impatient. After he called me on my personal cell phone and started yelling about how long it was taking to get it done (in all fairness it's longer than it should have been, but an extra two days for a full custom paint job, LED install, and maintenance isn't that bad).

Re: What did you do today...
Well Scott and I rode out to Mt Rushmore this year. We also saw the Crazy Horse Monument and rode the roads like Iron Mountain Road (US-16A) or The Needles (SD-87). Then off to Yellowstone Park where it was cold rainy. All the way through the park most of the forest is dead from beetle infestation. We didn't stick around. We got on US-191 and headed south into Utah. The switchbacks through here were some of the best ever. We took US-40 east into Colorado and CO-13 south. Next we tried to take a cool looking road (on the map) that ended up being not so cool. We got turned around and when we were almost back the left saddlebag went crashing and sliding down the road into the ditch filled with water. My laptop got wet along with my backup blanket and textile jacket. After we dried out some we tried CO-65 out. Coming down the mountain I hear the unmistakable sound of brakes grinding. We rode into Delta CO in the morning and they directed us to Montrose CO and they could get brake pads in a couple of days if I paid for them now. No way, we rode to Gunnison and they had pads in stock. We bought them then found a NAPA Auto Parts store who let us work under a carport they had out front. Then we headed home.

People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.
