Thanks for the offer. The hunters around here would be grateful, I'm sure. Evidently, chronic wasting disease has taken a toll. I can also tell the deer population is down by the lack of deer carcasses on the road shoulders.

First shot was low but I think I hit it by the way it jumped but no blood or hair anywhere. Second shot was too high... funny though the buck just kind of walked away like nothing happened....

so yeah im upset with myself even though this is my first time EVER hunting and its been 20 years since I shot a shotgun...
You mean you went out without sighting the thing in??? That's the first thing on every hunter's checklist!
did not have a need 2 until yesterday for one because I was using a friends of mine that was sighted in already. Plus I just got the gun like 3 days ago doesnt exactly give me a whole lot of time to sight it in lol. Either way no deer sighted today grrr.... I am about to give up on hunting...

Ohhh gotcha...
And don't give up! I've been out hunting from 12 - 16, then again at 24. That's 5 years with two successes. All but one of those years was for elk. Colorado has the largest elk herd in the country... And I was hunting in the middle of it... lol Trust me sometimes it just takes some time. Come on out to Colorado and we'll go next year!

Wasn't today, but yesterday took a 2008 R1200GS Adventure out on a test ride. I'm having a hard time deciding between the GS and the RT. Would really like the extra range that bigger fuel tank gives, but not sure I'd ever really do much off-road riding so can't really justify the extra cost.

Yesterday, actually....I moved into my new digs.....
I commuted from my new place today. No bridges, no freeways. Yay! 30 minutes saved to go to work and an hour saved coming home.

I hooked up my computer tonight.

Took three bikes and ran them around today - Trophy, VStrom, and my wife's BMW F650 (Bonneville has been in the shop for 3 weeks). None of them had stabilizer in the fuel. We had been riding up to a couple weeks ago, then it got rainy and cold all of a sudden. So I needed to put in the stabilizer and run them around awhile to charge up batteries. (We don't winterize bikes).

Rode first bike over to the shop to check progress on the Bonneville. Good news is Triumph approved replacing the pipes under warranty (yay!) These were Triumph aftermarket pipes called "TORs" (Triumph Off Road). The chrome on one had basically self-destructed. Now we wait for the parts to come in.

Came back, picked up second bike, her BMW. Wife decides we should go back to the dealership, and she'll tag along in her car (because........ she didn't feel like gearing up for a short trip?????? :humm:) She wanted to ask the shop (Suzuki/Kawasaki/Triumph/KTM dealer) if they'll install the center stand on her BMW. We'd tried to get it on last summer. I didn't have the special tool needed to stretch the spring, couldn't manage it by brute force. Had forgotten about it (actually thought she'd returned the center stand). The shop agreed, then 1) did it while we waited (most excellent #1) and 2), DIDN'T CHARGE US FOR IT!!! (most excellent #2!)

Well, I hadn't bought her a birthday present (Oct. 22) as she was in Germany at that time..... so, I bought a helmet from the shop for her. She's come full circle, no more pricey helmets, no more articulated helmets - just a plain old HJC CL-16. HJC's happen to fit us both well and are comfortable.

Then came home, got the third bike and ran it around. By now it's 4pm, and 35 degrees and breezy. Brrrrrr.
