its only a 10mm... I just replaced the left front wheel bearing on my van. Holy cow was it a pain in my rear end.

I've been taking my bike out and all seems okay except for the salt dusting my fairings... then again I rode my GPz in the fresh snow to see if the seating position would work better than when I did it on my Vulcan. Leaning does not work, neither do front brakes... it had to be ridden motocross mode. This has become a yearly ritual in my 8 years of riding.

Well, it's a new year and I've been waiting long enough. I'm going to contact the rally school I attended to rent a car for an upcoming Rally event and maybe I can start a little career going with it even though I'm 25 (everyone keeps saying I'm too old as the Pros have started in their teens with ACP and Tanner Foust being the exceptions).

I just hope I'm not in way over my head on this one. Who thinks I should just walk away? (yeah I'm expecting honesty).

I skidded on black ice and had to call Red Baron which is a bike rescue service I belong to here because the brake lever was totally curled into an S shape and the engine had (temporarily) stopped. When they arrived I rode in the van and the bike was tied on the back........went to the workshop and they fixed the lever and I rode home. It was scary. Luckily the streetlights were on and 3 cars behind me stopped and waited while a school bus driver got out and helped me lift the Motard to the curb. I couldnt lift it as it was sliding and slipping all over and anyway horizontal on the road way too heavy!! Very lucky to get help and thank *** for the street lights so I could be seen. I had full armor gear on and Im fine. Sore back from trying to lift the bike and lots of self promises not to ride again after dark below zero .

JC- if there's one thing I've learned from almost 55 years of life, it's this: if you want to do something, and your heart is really in it, just DO IT! There's always naysayers who say you're too old, too unskilled, too broke, too this, too that. Listen to them politely, but then do what your heart says. Who knows what untapped reserves of talent, determination, and guts you might find in yourself if your heart's in something?

Great advice. I would just add never be a slave to debt, pay off your debts as fast as possible.

The fact that you didn't get injured too badly is good to hear and the same goes for attentive drivers. Below 0 riding is doable... if you're willing to stud those tires
