I pulled the carbs on my oldschool sport touring thing... #3 cyl not getting the good stuff... and i cleaned these pupps quite successfully last season... might be a clog in the body rather than a jet, or worse, an airleak on maybe the throttle shaft seals, or something equally difficult to fix -- obsolete (1984750RL, rare bike, quite different than other XJs - based on XJ900RK, not other XJ750s). We'll see if I can get her running well again.

Quite rightly said. I think the only other important thing for me is finding a girl who enjoys the same stuff I do --- and the only way to do that is to go racing again.

Maybe cruisers in another 20 years - and look - Bluesy you seem to like to Cruise (giggle) (p.s.. the heat here makes it tough when using pedal power on long trips, but other than that the only bad thing to me is the forest fires -- for the body heat there is the lake, and swimming is so good for fitness)

Nice '99 Shadow none the less [coming from someone who likes everything non-cruiser admittedly enough -- only cruiser-ish bikes I can recall riding are Virago's, 750, 1100 and V-max (hardly a cruiser other than in the handling dept] -- of course i may have repressed some cruiser memories :-) because like that Kings Head on the thing they not at al to my taste --- maybe a Van Halen logo would work for me -- snicker -- boy those guys are old school too. Since your VT is all '50s creamy white and stuff it reminds me of David Lee Roth doing Ice Cream man...

No cruising for me today. Too busy. I'm preparing dinner for a friend's birhtday. I left the house earlyish to go get ingredients and a bottle of wine.
And now...having a cup of coffee before I get started on the tidying and preparing.

It's 3 degrees C and drizzling outside.

Taking a look tomorrow at a possible new bike. 93 Bandit 400. If I buy it I have to fix it (apparently has a bad ignition module) which isn't a big deal. Then I'd use it as a commuter bike for school and (whenever I find it) work.

I got the bike out of the garage for the first time since November. Wife was itching to go for a ride so my sister watched the kids while we went out for a while. She got cold so we came back in. I mean it was 50F with a windchill that made it 40F before we even left the driveway.

I got up damn early considering it's not a race day! (ahhh the good old days -- gotta bring them back to life...)

Let's see -- Food?, Clothing?, Shelter? - CHECK, CHECK, CHECK... Fully functional set of two wheels? - WOAH! Big X --- Houston, we have a problem!

I have awoken before sunrise on a Sunday so that I can finish processing a batch wedding photos today before getting my hands dirty on the bike... and so the happy couple will have something else to be happy about... and watch the GP... or watch the GP, then get my hands dirty, depending how much long I am playing foggy foto frapper... without coffee i will be foggy a bit too long...

BUT HOUSTON we have a REAL GRADE 1 EMERGENCY HERE! -- Abort Spring Launch. Call in Fueling Technician #2... and hey Bat-boy, stop sniffin the fuel, scratch up some friggin tools, charge the friggin battery while you're at it... turn off that friggin computer, and get to friggin work!!

yes sir, Admiral XJ, sir!

i iz outta here... almost... i caught my shirt sleeve in the door...

LOL...

Well my foot is now wrapped up as it had gotten infected because I am to stubborn to NOT work. I hate sitting when I know things have to get done....

On the positive side I got all the garbage I pulled out of the kitchen burned or brought to the local transfer station. 3 truck loads (I have a 6 foot bed) of wood was burned at my brother-in-laws house. Glad to have all that gone. Then I had 2 truckloads full of drywall, plaster, garbage pulled out of the attack, old blown in insulation, old drop in cieling taken to the transfer station. All this with my foot hurting from the nail. Course I didnt stop after unloading the truck... I finished installing the Durack board for the Ceramic tile as well as got the seems of the board cemented in. Of course my friends wife is a DR (he is an EMT) so they forced me to sit down and let me tell you it HURTS to get an infection out of a nail puncture. Hurts like hell.

So now today I sit here board out of my gourd because im forced to keep my foot elevated and covered and not do anything. Though my wife did buy me a new toy :D. Got a tripod spinning laser level. Cant WAIT to use it when installing the new cabinets :D. Course my wife will use it before I will to paint the walls.

Saturday: a warm spring day. Went for a quick spin on the bike in the morning. Went up to London in the afternoon to meet a couple of friends and go to the theatre. Bumped into Boris Johnson in the foyer on the way out. For those not fortunate enough to live in these ever-fascinating islands, Boris is a well known journalist, novelist, and all round upper-class twit. He is also currently Mayor of London, though nobody has quite figured out how that happened. Had a great day out and got home ready for a long Sunday solo ride.

I've heard of Boris Johnson. From what I hear he is not well-liked. But then again most of what I hear from your island is from Top Gear.

I bought a motorcycle today! Not currently running, but doesn't seem too bad off, 1993 Suzuki Bandit 400. Little liquid cooled 400cc I4 producing 50 HP and 25 ft/lbs of torque. Now to get it running and use it as my commuter bike!
