Both XP and Vista 32-bit have the 4GB memory "problem."

XP64 and Vista 64 do not.

I know I am pathetic....however.....
now what?????

My photos are normal colours. When I view my photo shows on photobucket they are normal colours.
But when I watch the photo shows on my computer in the media player, the colours are way off. It looks like for too much saturation and the images are dark and have weird colours.

So...what do you suppose is the problem? If I can view my photos and photobucket shows can I assume the video card is ok?

Or do you think there is just a setting somewhere I can adjust?

What media player are you using? What is the "photo show?" A slideshow of images in a directory or a video file?

I was using windows media player 11....I rolled it back to 10 to see if it would make a difference. It did not.

That is true, 32 bit OS cannot address more than 3GB but it's usually best nowadays to get 2 sticks of paired RAM since many chipsets are dual channel which yields better performance... supposedly. Plus RAM is dirt cheap esp. DDR2. Anyhow many places are shipping systems with 3GB of RAM, just not sure if they ship 4GB but only 3.3GB is addressable.

Forget Crucial, buy RAM from Newegg.com since they have great prices and are good when it comes to shipping back defective products with no hassle. Plus these guys ship your stuff quickly... this applies to US customers though.

Media Player has a Video Settings box/pane you can bring up. View -> Enhancements -> Video Settings.

You probably just have the Hue or Brightness off center or something.
