I'm helping my stepdaughter buy a Harley (she's got Harley on the brain....) We did the deal this morning. It's loud. It's black. It's in my garage. It's sitting next to the Triumphs. :squint:

Oh my God, what have I done??????

(heh, heh)

1990 XLH 883. I rode it a little. It's actually kind of fun, in a basic, two-wheel-farm-tractor kind of way. Surprised by how well it takes curves. The brakes suck, though- no stoppies on this critter! Pics coming.

I had my new michelins mounted on my Nighthawk today but it wont quit raining long enough to go ride. I always check over everything after anyone else touches my bike. After the tires were mounted I went out to look it over and noticed the they put the rear wheel in with the right side 1.5 marks farther to the rear. So rather than argue with them I just wheeled her up on the trailer and brought her home. Went over everything tightened things left loose ect.... I can find decent service anywhere. Anyhow..... Tomorrow I plan on riding it about 100 miles rain or shine. NEW TIRES MAKE ME HAPPY :kicking:

Man, I hear that. I adjusted the chain on my V-strom this spring and found one side adjuster was a full mark further back than the other. Last people to have the rear wheel loose was the dealer's service department. How frikkin' hard is it to count hashmarks on the adjusters, ferpetesake??!! :x

Ran a few errands this morning, then showed my son a few basics on my bike (he's signed up for MSF next week). After lunch, we went to his high school graduation. Came home, ordered pizza and ate that with a couple beers while watching a movie ... then took a nap on the couch.

A fabulous day.

I just mounted a new front tire on my KLX. Everytime I have ever done a tire change on tubed tires, I have noticed the rubber runner that covers the spoke ends from hitting the tube shifts a little. I make sure that I shift it back in the right way. Years ago, I had a tubed tire mounted by a dealer and about a few months later it went flat. Upon examination, the tube had been punctured by the spoke ends. The inner rubber guard had shifted ever so slightly during the installation exposing a smidgen of the spoke end that over the course of time, it scraped enough that it punctured the tube. I will only mount tubed tires on my own now so that should never be a problem again. I also only use Heavy Duty or Ultra Heavy Duty tubes.

Just came home from the airport. Picked up our eldest, on home for R&R from a year-long deployment overseas. Five months since we've seen him... SO SO SO wonderful to have him home, and to be able to give him a hug.
