If you rode one you would know. They are fine road machines. I don't like cruisers, not my thing. I can say it is plenty powerful for this relatively new rider and I rode with ZooTech while I was on my bike, and the Mean Streak can run with my ZRX. That is no small feat for a cruiser.

Okay... change of subject, because I feel like a little kid who's sitting at the dinner table while his parents are yelling at eachother...

Loonette, on your bike you have those big metal bars that come out in the front, what are those for exactly? Just to protect the bike if you drop it, or is it more of a looks thing?

Those are engine guards with highway bars built-in, for more comfortable cruising (note the black O-rings on the horizontal portions).

Oh... so you they're for resting your feet on when you cruising on the highway? I've seen that before, but I didn't know that was part of their purpose.

Those bars are Lindby Bars - they have them for many cruiser models. The black rubber rings on the top bar provide grip for your boots. They make for nice foot rests if you can actually reach them, which, amazingly I cannot. Well, I can reach them, but that's it. I'm too short (5'2") to relax my feet on the bars. Anyway, they do protect the engine, would make a nice grab bar if I ever had to pick the bike up, and I think they look pretty cool.

Cheers,
Loonette

I disagree... the manufacture does not give you a lot of facts about their bikes and so professional riders take these bikes out and put them to the test and give you their opinion. Should that be your only research when looking for a bike? No! Talk to those that own them, test ride one, but to disclude a professional's opinion is not smart. Not everyone can "judge that sort of thing" on their own.
Maybe what I said wasn't complete. What I mean is... aside of the manufacturer's specs, I did read up on information from test riders - both private owners as well as in magazine articles. What I don't subscribe to are the comparisons that are made of different models. I find that to be smart enough.

...technically, if u want a slow bike, buy a cruiser! i love cruisers, but if u want something for all out power and speed, get a gixxer/busa/repsol/mille/anyother supersport.. yes, diggerv, your bike is nice, and a bit faster, but saying eanstreak isn't in the same class bacause it isnt quite as powerful or fast is extremely narrowminded; Its not like critics use the V-Rod as a basis.

the meanie is a sweet bike and definately a great power cruiser for the price:power ratio..

and just to say, I love the V-Rod and i would rather have one myself over the meanstreak... im not biasad, diggerv... ur just being an a$$

I tried to be nice threee times but zooietech just got madder   so i could see that the only thing i could do at this point was to a- buy a meanie to make him happy or b- tell him his meanie sucked. :banging: :wtf:

I'm not anti kawasaki or any other kind of bike I like them all. I can look at any bike and find things I like even if it is not my style. My next bike, I'm working on buy now, is the Kawasaki W650.

these icons are so cool
