Allow me to explain it to you . You ask her out and she is either going to say yes or no . If she says yes then it's a go . If she says no then you move on with your life because no way is this the end of your life and your comment about not being able to work with her etc. is beyond my understanding and really quite juvenile imnsho .
If you do it with class and charm and you strike out then it becomes her loss and not yours . Get it ?

 That's hysterical....

Good luck Verm, My personal opinion is not to get involved because mixing work and your personal life usualy turns into a disaster, BUT in the end I know you'll do what you want.

Dating in the workplace...what a bad idea :(

Unless this person is your soul mate and you marry her, you'll have some fun and eventually break up. Odds are one will break it off before the other one wants to - enter Resentment.

Ever had a woman really mad at you? Then imagine working with her...and unless you trust that she's the 1% of the population that has morals, she will get rid of you quick if she wants to. And dont even think about paying attention to other women at work now. A little lie to your boss is all it takes.

"Sir, I feel uncomfortable around V...we were dating, but now we broke it off and he keeps asking me out again. This is creating a hostile environment for me."

One sweet firing, no questions asked. Welcome to the workforce.

Don't date women at work, don't talk to women at work in anything but a purely professional manner, and especially never allow yourself to be alone with any woman at work without supervision, doors open, etc.

Its horrible...but unless you really know someone (and do you ever really?) you cannot trust them to be upstanding. Its too easy to get fired when dating in the workplace.

All good points, CNF... but he won't listen. His need for affection and validation will override his logic and he'll learn the hard way.

In these days, I'd not date anyone in the workplace. We are a litigious nation... I'd like to keep myself out of court for as long as possible.

That's funny, because I'm a step away from asking out one of the girls at work. Still trying to decide if I really want too.

Then again I plan to be quitting there within the next 2 weeks, so it's not really dipping my pen in the company ink, lol.

oh man, you guys are lucky that you get to work with females period. I work with one, who's easily 40, old enough to be my mother, and who usually works inside anyway. I mean sure, working with all dudes allows for a rather crass since of humor between us all because we don't have to worry about "They're making me uncomfortable" but still.
