Thanks guys. A little tip if you're going to attempt something like this, have a big file, and a lot of sandpaper. Being a professional rower might help too, my arm was sore after five minutes.

Why are you getting a new tank Cam, if its just some dents, and you dont mind trying this, before you buy new (wont cost much, and may save ya some $$$) try some bondo work. buy it any where. (I saw you called your car crappy, maybe you've done some bondo work if its a rusty peice of crap *L) Just grind down to metal and give it a try, the worst itll do is cost you an afternoon. worked for my tank, I suppose I could have done a better job, but it was only the second time Id done it, worked for me.

can see at the rear of the tank, it had a big ole nasty dent. now its just a hazy WTF is that instead *L

I'm not sure what bondo is... I'll look around when I'm not about to pass out from exhaustion.
The problem is, the tank was leaking, because a weld got pulled apart in the accident. The mechanic temporarily fixed the leak with JB weld, but I need a new (or used) tank, because he doesn't think it will last long.

bondo is like a plaster type substance. its used to smooth stuff out so you can paint over it. If you ever watch one of those car shows like overhaulin' or whatever and they do body work its usually that blue stuff they put on before paint.
Like Bob the MSF guy said "Smile your on a bike" :)

Oh, well I need a new tank, because it was leaking, and the mechanic temporarily fixed it with JB weld, but I don't think it will hold long, so I need a new tank, if it was just the dents, I wouldn't bother, but I don't want to ride around for long on a tank that might start leaking.

And, I might get a job as a bench tech at a computer repair store! They called me this morning, and asked me to come in for an interview, so I rode the hour to get there, and went in for the interview. We went over my resume, but he was like "well, you're young, didn't graduate high school, and don't have any formal experience, so I don't think it's going to work." But, I convinced him to let me work for like a week, so he can see that I have enough experience to work there. So I get to make the hour commute there tomorrow and start at 9am. Wish me good luck!
