my mechanic is cool and entertaining...

he said to let him know in case i need anything.

he even said he can print me receipts for a carbon fiber yoshi full sys exhaust, ohlins suspension, shoei X11 helmet and other expensive upgrades and accessories.

but i told him it's ok, i just wanna get a new bike and keep my losses at minimum.

i also wanna get money back for my windscreen, frame sliders, helmet and gloves.

im not even gonna claim for the TRE and rimstripes.

and also, he said he has a lot of good contacts at dealerships so he can get me a good deal on a bike.

and holy cr@p! my policy doesn't cover rental cost. :(

Groan... I learned that lesson when some asshat drove into my parked car... car was in the shop for months as they apparently had to train German aprentices to build replacement parts, fly the apprentices to Mexico, have them train laborers to build the actual parts, then ship the parts around the horn to SoCal.

I wound up buying a cheap car while I waited for them to fix my car, 'cause it would've been over $1000 in rental fees otherwise.

Buy a nice 650 and learn to push it. Life is too short to die on a freeway.

I don't see why getting a 600 would be such a downgrade. Did you ever ride the 1000 to its limit? I don't think so, so you haven't missed anything. Lo-jack is probably a waste of money. If they were pro's, they would have found it eventually and still get your bike, or you can find the bike with everything ripped up inside. Alarms are better.

Sorry to hear that. Some people's children are scum.

You've already admitted you got the wrong bike for your skill level. Go with the 600. You won't be able to ride that thing to its limit for a long time, and your insurance will be cheaper as well.

And, you'll have cash left over which is always a good thing.

but lojacks are silent and it's very cleverly disguised as an actual part of the motorcycle.

unless the thieves are highly sophisticated then they might have a bug scanner.

regarding alarms, they'll probably be able to rip it off very quick. or they'll just steal it even w/ the alarm going off.

anyway... i don't think there's a really good product to protect your bike from thieves but lojack makes more sense since they are not anti-theft devices but they are great recovery devices.

they also have a 24hr guarantee that if your bike is not recovered in 24hrs... they'll refund your money.

also, accdg to my insurance policy guide, lojack can save me up to 18% on premiums. that's a lot.

MF'rs   Sorry to hear about your bike man. There just aren't too many things that make me angrier than reading something where somebody steals your sh*t. Dude, at least with your coverage you're pretty much set up to get another bike. I'm sure they've done it many times before, but rest assured. What goes around comes around. I would never wish ill of anyone but if anyone deserves to f'n crash and die, it's scum like that.

Yeah pros will know how to bypass lojack. Just get a good alarm with a pager, that way whenever it goes off you will know it. Even if they find it and disarm it, you've still got the page so you know it went off.

Well, that "procreating" sucks. Hopefully you'll get the chance to catch up with whoever snagged your ride and test out your katana or gun on them. LoL.

I won't get into the whole what bike you should buy. But this is your chance to go bike shopping again, which is always a good time. LoL, I wouldn't mind having mine stolen if it meant I could get a Triumph Daytona 675 HAHAHA.

Seriously though, that 06 gsx-r650 looks hot, and if you wait for 3-4 months you might be able to snag the 07.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

i wanna ride again so bad. :(

i wonder how long they'll wait before they give me money and consider it total loss.
