He doesn't take any s*$% that he doesn't ask for. He's still a very new rider and relatively new to the forum and he knows better than to expect unfettered support for his unrealistic goals and lack of priorities. The guys and gals who race professionally have been on two wheels since pre-school and have worked their way to where they are pretty much their whole lives. Verm has demonstrated that he must always have the absolute best of everything right up front, but there just aren't any shortcuts to a racing career.

seriously though... i do think it is too late for me. im already 26yo. i still wanna take it to the tracks but i don't expect to be involved in racing anymore like i did months ago.

We've got a WERA racer who's over 50 in our club...and he's darn good. Heck, I figure Miguel Duhamel will hit 50 before he retires!

I kinda agree with this. I mean I am new to the forums, so maybe I missed where verm insulted somebody's mom. I dunno. But it seems to me that some of you guys ride Verm harder than you ride your bikes and get off on it. Yeah he's a young guy who likes to pay for things he could do hisself. And yeah, he gets excited about shiny new add ons for his bike sometimes. And yeah, he really likes to post about it. But is he really doing anyone any harm?

Other than hisself, and maybe his bank account, I don't think this guy is really hurting anybody. If he wants to pay for what he thinks will improve his bike, than more power to him.

We're not really worried about him doing harm to others. Well, I'm not... I won't speak for anyone else. I have no problem with him doing what he wants to do... I just get frustrated when he spends so much time saying "I want to do this but I can't because I need to buy that first" when the thing he "needs to buy" isn't a necessity... isn't even a good idea. The problem is that I actually believe him when he says "I want to do X", though he probably doesn't really want to do it at all.

As for maintenance and starting small... that's part of the point... last I heard he isn't even lubing his own chain and that's about as trivial as you can get.

Adjusting the suspension doesn't take a service manual... it is like adding air to the tires... something you do from time to time as the bike, the weather, the intent of the ride, and the weight of the rider/luggage/passenger changes.

I just wish he would stop asking for advice/opinions and then completely ignoring it when it is not what he wants to hear.

I can't see why he doesn't just register with some racer boy site and have a nice big circle-jerk with a whole bunch of other wanna-be's.

I guess it's a matter of different strokes for different folks. I have been driving for the last 17 years and have never once changed the oil in my own car. I had my bike for all of 2 days and changed the oil and tightened up the chain myself, just by reading the owner's manual.

But, I am still going to take my car to Jiffy Lube tomorrow .
Something about getting under the car that I am not comfortable with. So who knows, Verm could be the same way about his bike. I am sure there are quite a few Harley owners on here that don't do their own maintenance. A lot of people just ride because they think it's cool. They don't want dirt under their nails.

ei! i lube my own chain and check my tire pressure and adjust tire pressure on my own.

i also insalled the TRE by myself.

also, when i posted this topic i wasn't looking for advice... i was actually saying to those who have adjustable suspension to do same as me, or work on it yourself if you know what you need to do.

i did ask minty or zoo for tips since they brought it up that i should be able to do this alone.

but anyway... this topic is not asking for help but i do appreciate it when you guys suggest stuff. while i don't always accept it, please know that i do take it into consideration.
