Well I ordered the parts to fix everything on the bike. It will be about three weeks until everything is right again. I will be back on the road this weekend. I just need to tape the turnsignal until I get it replaced.
As for the corner that is the first thing that I am going to tackle. I want to head up to that road and run slowly through it. Building speed and confidence as I go. My goal is to get back up to the speed limit which is 45 thought that corner.
I am reading twist of the wrist right now. I have only gotten a few chapters into it though. I will look for that one you described though Verm once I am done with this one.

Dude, you drive a friggin' TANK for a living. You already have all the confidence you need.
Good luck to you!

tanks are easy to drive - plus you can miss your turn completely - and just drive through/over whatever is in the way

Yeah, I miss those days.

I was a tech in the Canadan Army, used to work on the Leopard tank weapons sighting systems. Got to drive them many times in my career. Not as sophisticated (or fast) as your M1 Abrams, of course, but still an awesome ride.

you've not turned, until you've pivot steered

Having not crashed yet, I have no basis for this, but It may be worth bearing in mind.
I understand somepeople have a tendancy to almost crash again at the corner of their first crash. Time off builds a fear, and the tendancy is to resort back to natural reactions. Which would have you looking at the corner rather than around it where you want to go.
Remember that simple thing before you get there, and you'll look the right way, and do just fine

About the leaning and cornering... it does help. I've tried it, keeping my body upright through a turn and then doing the same turn at the same speed but leaning with it. I scraped the peg on the upright run. I've also found with a passenger it's harder to corner when she's trying to fight the lean than it is when she looks over your shoulder to the inside of the corner. Now I don't know about dragging knees cause I've never done it (and couldn't if I tried on my bike) nor do I need to, but I can say leaning plays a part in good cornering.

Yes I love how you can blow through a turn in a tank and just keep right on going. I wish you could do that on a bike it would make learning so much eaiser.
As for that turn I have not had a chance to go back up there. I am hoping to do it this week but I dont know if I will have the chance. I will let you all know how it goes when I do get to it.
Aside from all of this I was out riding yesterday, and I have noticed that my confidence is way down. Some of the turns that I used to take fast I was scared of. That leads up to my question. How long does it take to get that confidence back. It has been a while since I crashed, so I would think that I would be ok with it. But I guess not.
