CeeGee ddin't have a killswitch. The only choice was ignition on/iginition off. I used to drop her into neutral and pop her up on to her centre stand
The CX being a trike is completely different and so I've developed a completely different routine for it. When stopping I pull as close into the curb as I can before killswitching the engine, turn the fuel off and make sure it is in gear before getting my keys out of my pocket and shutting off the ignition/engaging the steering lock.
It's all about routine. These routines worked for me, on these bikes - I'll not say someone elses routine which works for them on their bike is wrong.
Well not in this case at least!

speaking of I never turn my fuel off. Other than winterization or going to reserve is there a reason to do so?

CeeGee could continue to draw petrol, after she was at a standstill, through the carb and out of the overflow onto the road.
This led to me not having as much fuel as I thought I had and a very embarressing phone call to Jules.

I guess that would be a good reason lol.

Or, even worse, the fuel could overflow from the float bowl and run down the intake. If the motor happened to stop with the valve open it would drain into the cylinder head and past the piston rings into the oil - not good.

Today I noticed my bike doesnt care about the kickstand. If I'm running the bike and drop the stand, it doesn't shut off. Maybe my bike is broked.

Some bikes don't have a kickstand kill switch - mine doesn't either.

i use the kickstand kill switch almost all of the time, stops the engine immediately, then i turn the key off (down by my left leg), and i always park it in gear, and start it with the clutch in and in first (unless i'm going to warm it up, then i'll put it in neutral and start it). i leave it in gear just out of force of habit, it's not going to roll anywhere, and with it in gear, it can't start without the clutch pulled in, so that eliminates any accidental jumping when starting. about the only time i use the kill switch is when i go to the bank and hit the switch when i'm in the drive-thru (being considerate as the exhaust does rumble some, and that makes for annoyingly loud echoes for the other patrons)

I think mine does...but I also think you have to engage the gear with the stand down for it to kick in. I've never tested it, but I vaguely remember them saying that in the MSF where we used Buell Blasts.

That is the usual way they are set up. If the bike is in neutral, you can put the stand down without killing the engine. The kill scenario is usually: bike in gear AND kickstand down.
